The Baby Shift- Connecticut Page 4
“More,” she begged. He was happy to comply. He drove into her, over and over, whispering sweet nothings and kissing her fiercely. His lips were like tiny flames on her skin. She was desperate for relief. When she caught his eyes, she could see the same hunger in his golden stare. They rocked together in eager movements. Her mouth opened as his movements pushed her towards the cliff of climax. “There,” she whispered in a soft voice. “There.”
He pressed his lips against hers as they reached pleasure together, a perfect explosion of ecstasy. She groaned as they fell back onto the bed, spent and happy.
“That was amazing,” she whispered.
“Incredible.”
He wrapped an arm around her waist and nestled her body against his. “Gods, how long I’ve dreamt of that.” She laughed and slapped his naked chest, playfully. She enjoyed the warmth of his skin.
“You’re not the only one,” she reminded him. “My lion.” She snuggled into him. His hand stroked her hair, and then he walked his hand playfully down her spine.
“Would you be ready for another round?”
She looked up at him with a devilish smirk. “I told you. I’m always ready for you.”

Epilogue: Lionel
“Did you pack Liv’s stuffed bear?” Melissa asked as they hurried out to the car.
“Yes,” Lionel replied with a begrudging air. “Why can’t she prefer to have a stuffed lion?” Melissa giggled.
“Not as popular, I guess,” she said with a shrug. He shook his head in fake-outrage as he buckled Olivia’s car set into the back of the Rover. “We’ve got to hurry if we want to make Cassandra’s lunch on time.”
“Oh, trust me, I know,” he said and then planted a firm kiss on Melissa’s cheek. “I’ve lived with my sister long enough to know that I won’t be able to live down being late. I’ll drive quickly.”
“Not too quickly,” Melissa said, looking back at the giggling Olivia in the backseat.
“Not too quickly,” he promised. “For a kiss.” He leaned forward. She chuckled a deep wondrous throaty sound that stirred the desire in his core. He’d have her soon enough. Tonight, perhaps in their guest room in the clan’s guest lodge in the New York countryside. She leaned forward and kissed him on the lips, enjoying the taste of her delicious mouth. His family would certainly be delighted, even if Melissa was a human, to see him. They thought he’d left for good. But, recent events had taught him that grief was a funny emotion. It could transform you. Utterly change your life, if you allowed it.
Olivia blabbered nonsense from the back. They parted from their passionate kiss and laughed.
“Let’s go,” Melissa said with a grin. “I’m ready.” She winked.
“I’m ready too,” he said.
They all were.
