  Thankfully, Tanner raised his head above her belly and gave her the most delicious grin, so Susanna was able to save her voice for the dirty talk she would definitely be muttering as Tanner slid into her.

  “You comfortable?” he whispered, looking at her prone position, her hips elevated on a pillow and her head leaning back against the bed’s headboard. Susanna nodded and braced herself for the world’s most delicious sensation, that of being entered by her boyfriend.

  And Tanner didn’t disappoint. Susanna didn’t know if she was getting more sensitive in her pregnancy, or if sex with Tanner really did just keep getting better, but she swore she came faster every time they did it. Within what felt like seconds, her walls were squeezing, and a wave of pleasure was cresting up her thighs and over her breasts, tightening her nipples as the orgasm consumed her. It happened again and again, each time more intense than the last thanks to Tanner worshipping her body with kisses and caresses, bites of her nipple and strokes to her clit. When he finally joined her in ecstasy, she was spent, unable to do anything beyond hold tight to the man who had loved her, saved her, impregnated her—in short, the man who had made her life worth living.

  Susanna got up to use the bathroom, and when she came back, it was to Tanner lying on his side, one hand propped on his elbow as he openly ogled her.

  “You’re so beautiful, you know that?” he told Sus as she crawled back into bed and snuggled against him.

  “I’ve been told once or twice by a certain someone,” she replied with fake arrogance, but really, she loved how affectionate Tanner was. She’d never been with someone who cherished her so much, who made her feel the center of their world. Her last boyfriend had dumped her when her wolfishness got too much for him, but Tanner loved every part of her, both human and wolf.

  “I love you, Sus,” Tanner whispered in her ear, kissing her neck and snuggling into the curve of her shoulder. “I’m so happy. You make me so happy.”

  Susanna smiled and laced her fingers through his. It had been a hard year, selling her house and turning her business over to Murals&More’s assistant director, but she was finally in a place where she could take a breath. Her and Tanner’s painting business was up and running, her twins were due in a matter of months, and she had finally found someone who loved her no matter what. Someone she could let down all her walls around. It felt so good, to finally be able to be her fullest, truest self.

  “I love you, too, Tan,” she whispered, closing her eyes and drinking in the warmth of his skin against hers. In a few hours, they would get up, get dressed, and go to Donna’s for their weekly brunch with Logan. Love and hash browns. What else did they need, really?
